Take a Seat, Make a Friend

You never know what asking simple questions, sometimes seemingly random ones, may lead to. What would happen if we started talking with strangers and asking them questions? What opportunities would we get? How would it shine our light?

Fleeting Moments

A few weeks ago a rose bloomed on our rose bush.

I wanted to take a picture of this rose, but never stopped to do it.

A few days later I noticed the rose was welting away.

a welting rose

My chance for a picture was gone.

All our moments are fleeting. What is here today, is gone tomorrow.

We should never think, “I can do that tomorrow.” Tomorrow may never come.

Do not waste your moments. Stop to smell the rose, to smile at a child, to enjoy the little things of life.

Fleeting moments: these are all we have. Make the most of them.

One of the greatest teachers I have ever had said, “It’s all in your perspective.” That is so true and it extents to every area of life. This video is an example of that quote. It is worth the time to watch.

This film has won several film festivals. For more info about this film click here.

What is your perspective? Do you need to change it?

Childlike Faith

Children and adults have different perspectives on things. I think dandelions show this difference. Kids like dandelions. They find them fun to play with, pretty to pick, and nice to wear. Adults do not typically like dandelions. They find dandelions a nuisance and a weed to be removed. I think sometimes it is a shame that adults cannot like dandelions. They have lost that childlike pleasure. Losing childlike pleasure is not the end of the world, but losing childlike faith might be. The difference in views on dandelions just begins to show the differences between adults and children. One of the biggest difference might be their faith. Children have a lot better faith than adults have. We must all have childlike faith. Jesus says in Matthew 18:3-4 “Verily, I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little children, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Blossoms

Blossoms are beautiful but if they did not produce fruit they would not fulfill their purpose. We can be beautiful, we can look good outwardly, but if we do not bring forth the fruit of the Spirit we do not begin to fulfill our purpose. Blossom in the Lord and produce His fruit.
