“Adore God. Reverence and cherish your parents. Love your neighbor as yourself, and your country more than yourself. Be just. Be true. Murmur not at the ways of Providence. So shall the life into which you have entered be the portal to one of eternal and ineffable bliss.” –Thomas Jefferson, letter to Thomas Jefferson Smith, 1825

A godly godly man, Reverand Keith Daniel spoke those words last night.
Don’t do it. It is a serious thing to play the fool with God! And yet even as I write these words I know I have played the fool with God many times. My spirit cries because of that and I pray that God will forgive me and that I may not do it again. Don’t do it, it isn’t worth it!

(At least according to Thomas Jefferson.)
“Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time, who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done, if we are always doing. And that you may be always doing good, my dear, is the ardent prayer of yours affectionately.” -Thomas Jefferson, letter to Martha Jefferson, 1787
This is good advice. We would do well to follow it.

“People don’t seem to realize how often you have to come in second in order to finish first. I’ve never met a winner who hadn’t learned to be a loser.” Jack Nicklaus
I really like this quote. I want to be a winner and I’ve been learning to be a loser for years. There is still hope for me. There is also hope for you if you feel like a loser. Keep going you can be a winner!
