"Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize?...Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly;" 2 Cor 9:24-26

The Beauty of Fall

Have you ever noticed how beautiful fall is? I was blessed to spend a couple hours out in it today. Even though the sky was overcast, it was amazing! Our God is incredible! The creation truly proclaims His praise! We should too!

The Kingdom of God Today

Posted by Emma on October 27, 2009 | Filed under: Christianity,Daily Thought

What does the Kingdom of God look like in modern-day examples?

I was asked this question earlier today. The Kingdom of God is living under the rule of the King (God/Jesus, they are one and the same). So what does it look like to live under the rule of Jesus today? How does someone looking at you know you are under the rule of King Jesus? How do you live under His rule? You live under His rule by obeying His commands. When people see you putting others first, loving and serving others, they will know something is different. That is how you live under the rule of King Jesus. In the modern-day the Kingdom of God looks like people loving and serving others, people following the commands of King Jesus, people forgetting themselves.

What does the Kingdom of God look like in modern-day examples, to you?

The End of the World is Coming!

Posted by Emma on October 26, 2009 | Filed under: Daily Thought,TIme

I read today about a craze that is going around about how the world is going to end in 2012. I do not believe this craze. No one knows for sure when the end of the world will be, only God. (See Matthew 24, especially verse 36.) It could end today, it could in 2012, it could end in 3012, no one knows. However reading about this craze set me to thinking, what if the world was going to end in 2012, how would it change the way I lived? If I knew for sure that in two years the whole world was going to come to an end and the final judgement day was going to take place would I live different? I should always be living as though the end of the world was going to be tomorrow or today, but often I don’t. Take a moment to ponder your life. If the world ended in 2012 how would you live the next two years? Do you need to make changes in your life? I know I do.

Who are you?

“Priorities are a clear image of who you are; they declare your innermost feelings to the world. If you want to know if a person is primarily involved in spiritual pursuits or worldly pursuits, all you have to do is observe what comes first in his life. When he wakes up in the morning, does he rush to check his email [fb?], or does he rush to pray?” Y. Frand
