Here’s to the Crazy!

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” -Steve Jobs

For the most part I like this quote. Especially if you view it from a Christian stand point. I believe that everyone of us can be a world changer. With the help of my Master and Savior, I am a world changer. Although my name may not go down in history, I can change one person’s world. That is the key reason I like this quote.

You see, I am one of the crazy ones, the misfits, a rebel to the world’s way of doing things (although an obedient follower of the Lord’s way), a troublemaker to the ungodly, a round peg in a square hole. That is me, and it has been for as long as I can remember. I see things differently. I am not fond of following the rules the world sets in place. (Although I follow God’s rules very closely with the help of my Savior). I was never much of one for sticking to the status quo. That part of the quote fits me very well and I see myself in it, although probably not quite as Steve Jobs meant it.

The next part is simple truth, you can’t really ignore someone who is making things happen, who is causing change. If you stick with it, eventually someone is going to notice. I want that, I want to make a difference even if it is only for one person. I want someone to see what God can offer them. I want to be an example of something better than what the world has to offer.

The crazy ones push the human race forward. Those who are willing to step beyond the borders, to step outside the status quo are the ones who push us forward, but the ones who push us the furthest are the ones who are crazy in the world’s way of thinking because they are in line with God’s way of thinking. They press us forward to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. That is the way I want to effect change. God’s way.

So I am crazy enough to think that I can change the world. Not because of who I am but because of who God is. God is extraordinary yet He uses ordinary people. So I believe that I am a world changer. That God can and does work in me to change people’s lives. Even if I only change the world of one person, I have done something worthwhile and I have changed the world. So call me crazy if you want, it doesn’t bother me. God calls and I have responded. I am a world changer for the Lord. With His help, I will fulfill His calling in my life.
